Freddy Trujillo

Mexicano/Americano
Simi Valley, California-born, and Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter Freddy Trujillo is self-releasing his fourth solo album, I Never Threw A Shadow At it,  May 24th. A very personal record based around Chicano experiences, it is the follow-up to 2022’s Sketch of a Man. Trujillo, who is also the bass player for The Delines and Richmond Fontaine, delivers an honest storyteller’s look at his life growing up in Southern California as a Chicano.

Mike Coykendall

Indie Rock/Folk
Veteran songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Coykendall is currently most well known for his duties as a sideman, producer, and recordist via his work with M Ward,  Jolie Holland, Blitzen Trapper, Shook Twins, She & Him, Sallie Ford, Annalisa Tornfelt, & Tin Hat Trio, to name a few. In 2010 he began performing solo with an oversized Kay electric guitar while stomping a tin can kick drum and swishing away on a huge set of high-hat cymbals. He began calling this setup the “rig” and this continues to be his main form of solo presentation. These spontaneous performances are often a thick mix of Coykendall’s own compositions and reinterpretations of other writer’s famous or not-so-famous gems. In 2021 he self released The Dirt and the Dust. This record saw him return to a less experimental, more songwriting forward, presentation. He continues to write, perform, tour, produce, engineer, and wander SE Portland.

Acoustic Minds

Dance/Electronic
Jenni and Amanda Price are sisters, twins in fact. One can only imagine that it is the closely shared DNA that accounts for the flawless melding of their beautiful voices. Each alone is a fascinating talent, able to invoke folk, blues, soul and any number of genres. They play as a duet, have Jeremy Serwer join them to make a dynamic trio, and then break out with a full on band on occasion.  Acoustic Minds grabs you from the start and doesnt let go. Live performances are a must see for this twin fronted group. You stand witness to the magic as it happens.

Ben Rice

Americana / Blues
Ben Rice might be described as quiet and unassuming—until he picks up a guitar. A three-time Blues Music Award nominee, Rice has built a reputation as one of the most expressive and versatile artists in today’s roots and blues scene. While he began in traditional blues, over the years he’s expanded his sound with soul, R&B, folk, and country, creating a welcoming front-porch atmosphere where every listener feels at home.

Audiences are equally drawn to his heartfelt songwriting and evocative vocals. In performance, he treats every song as a story, channeling the emotion of its characters and inviting listeners to find their own meaning within the music.
